NexGen was given the opportunity to experience how a shingle is made at the GAF Minneapolis Plant. We learned how the process works starting with their specially made strength enforced fiberglass mat to the special rock igneous basalt- the dark, dense igneous rock of a lava flow or minor intrusion. It is mined right here in the Midwest and is used as protective granular’s. Their superior dura-grip sealant is used to lament the shingles together and then seal the shingles to the roof. We love being aligned with GAF; first to make a lamented shingle (timberline 1967) and the first to offer a lifetime warranty for all of their products in 2011. We can’t wait to see what they invent next.
