Vinyl Siding

Vinyl siding has come a very long way in the last 10 to 15 years. Today’s vinyl siding comes in hundreds of colors, textures, and profiles to give you many choices while designing the exterior of your dream home. You can find vinyl siding in both horizontal and vertical applications for any home profile. It is made to withstand the elements like heavy wind and hail impact while being very low maintenance. It resists pests such as termites, blights such as rot and excessive moisture, meaning it won’t corrode over time. It will keep its original qualities for many years, giving you your money’s worth.
Insulation can be added for more durability as well as preventing heat loss from the wall studs in the exterior walls. While most homes are insulated between the wall studs, the studs themselves bleed heat where they meet the siding. Insulated vinyl siding will keep you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter because of the blanket of protection that is over the studs.

GAF Shingle School

NexGen was given the opportunity to experience how a shingle is made at the GAF Minneapolis Plant. We learned how the process works starting with their specially made strength enforced fiberglass mat to the special rock igneous basalt- the dark, dense igneous rock of a lava flow or minor intrusion. It is mined right here in the Midwest and is used as protective granular’s. Their superior dura-grip sealant is used to lament the shingles together and then seal the shingles to the roof.  We love being aligned with GAF; first to make a lamented shingle (timberline 1967) and the first to offer a lifetime warranty for all of their products in 2011. We can’t wait to see what they invent next.
